Getting patients from Salt Spring Island to healthcare facilities off-island takes some planning. Ferry schedules and the availability of suitable transport can make it difficult to coordinate transfers and get patients where they need to be on time.

Salt Spring Mobility is being developed with these local challenges in mind. Having a vehicle based on the island could make scheduling easier, reduce unnecessary ferry trips to position the vehicle, and make better use of the transport resources already available.
